Self-isolation exemption for healthcare workers

Self-isolation exemption for healthcare workers

Discussions in Scotland have taken place following the UK Government’s announcement that vaccinated Health & Social Care staff could be exempted from self-isolation. Scottish Government has issued a letter to NHS Boards; these arrangements are decided on a case by case subject to risk assessment and the service being in extremis. Dental practices should not make decisions to bring staff advised to isolate back into work without discussing with the Health Board. Please email Dental.Contract@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk if you have a query and dental public health will contact you to discuss the situation.

In addition, There is likely to be a relaxation of 2m distancing in health care settings in August providing the rates of infection do not worsen. The next IPC advice will be issued on a 4-nations basis in September and current advice and SOPs need to remain in place until then.
