For the attention of dental practices in the City of Edinburgh, East and Midlothian Only
As several practices have already enquired, I write to confirm that the out of hours service for dental emergencies will operate on the first Monday in May 2020 – ie 4 May 2020 – and not on Friday 8 May 2020.
I understand that several organisations have changed their May holiday for next year but NHS Lothian will continue with Monday 4 May.
For West Lothian practices – as you will already be aware, the May public holiday is not covered in your out of hours contract so if your practice intends to close on that day, you will need to make your own arrangements for dental emergencies and leave a suitable message on your answer machine.
