Additionally, as part of our 2019/20 part-time provision Edinburgh College has been awarded Skills Development Scotland Modern Apprenticeship funding for Dental Nursing SVQ Level 3 – a programme for employed trainees of all ages i.e. 16-24 and 25+

Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) provide employers with a contribution towards the costs of training either new employees or up-skilling existing staff depending on the type/level of training, age of the “apprentice” and terms of employment.

Should the employee and employer meet the MA criteria, funding can be accessed to cover training costs for both the SVQ and PDA elements as per GDC registration requirements.

For employers wishing to participate in the MA programme Skills Development Scotland have set out guidance on the role of an apprentice employer.
