In light of the current situation regarding the outbreak of COVID-19, the Scottish Government and NHS Counter Fraud Services have advised that during this period there is no requirement for patients to sign GP17 paper forms or electronic signature pads. This is due to the potential mode of transition of coronavirus. Please note, when completing the GP17 form and submitting your claims for payment, you should complete all other sections as normal. You will still be required to select the option to state that the patient has signed the form or the claim will be rejected.
