NHS Mail
Dear NHS Mail User,
You are receiving this message to notify you that NHS Mail will be coming to an end, and NHS Scotland are migrating all users onto the Office 365 platform
What is happening?
The current contract for NHS Mail is coming to end in August 2020, and NHS Scotland have made the decision to migrate users onto the Office 365 platform. All your existing messages and calendar appointments will be moved from NHS.NET onto the new platform which is also using Microsoft Exchange. NHS.NET will no longer be available after the migration.
How does this affect me?
Your existing mail and calendar appointments will be moved into the new platform.
You will receive a new email address. At this time, we are unable to confirm what your new email address is, but we will send out this information as soon as it is available.
Most users will no longer be able to use Outlook to access your mail, and you will be using a web client for accessing mail. We will be sending out more details about this shortly.
You will need to check applications which have been setup with your NHS Mail address and change them to your new address once it is known.
When is it happening?
Your mail account will be migrated over to the new platform in June 2020.
Why is this happening?
The contract for NHS Mail is coming to an end and NHS Scotland have made the decision to migrate their staff onto the Office 365 platform.
What do I need to do?

Delete any old or redundant emails, e.g. any that do not need to migrate to the new service
Delete any redundant calendar appointments
Delete any out-of-date contacts
Delete files that you no longer require
Maintain distribution lists
Take note of any delegation or permissions you have on Shared mailboxes or other people’s mailboxes.
· Make a note of which applications you have setup with your NHS Mail address, you will need to change these to your new address once you know it.
How to keep informed of progress.
