The Infection prevention and control guidance for pandemic coronavirus is available from the following:

Within this guidance, section 5.4 addresses Personal Protective Equipment. Specifically this states that:
“All PPE should be:
- compliant with the relevant BS/EN standards (European technical standards as adopted in the UK)”
As well as detailing other specific measures.
To that end, all PPE should be tested and compliant with these standards prior to use.
